November 2008
Last night in Washington D.C., and it’s probably time to get some rest… tomorrow is a travel day.
October 2008
The scrambled egg at this hotel is amazingly fantastic. AMAZINGLY I SAY.
Room service is going to take 25-30 minutes? They over estimate my patience and underestimate my hunger. SO MUCH HUNGER.
Logging bugs in radar, because I have no way of knowing if they’re already there. Sigh.
Using Remote Install Mac OS X for the first time. Realising I need longer ethernet cables so the AirPort Extreme doesn’t end up on the floor
Oooh, you can use Remote Install Mac OS X with a disk image… hrm…
Copying a 7GB disk image over 802.11n is going to take 25 minutes? Doesn’t the computer know I can’t wait that long?!
Downloading [redacted], but lack any optical media to burn it to. Or a spare drive to install it on… sigh.
MacBook Pro is _really_ heavy when you get used to the Air.
Ok, it’s 12:17am, I think it’s time to put the work laptop away and perhaps get some sleep.
Gah apple, why must you tempt with awesome download links via email and then say access denied? :(
Thinking I would much rather be at home asleep. Darn weather. Back to designing stuff.
Wow, mention of Vancouver resteraunts and wine lost me two followers. Wonder if mentioning them again will too.
Visited three resteraunts tonight across Vancouver. Had some rather good Wine in Yaletown (NZ sauvignon blanc). Had an excellent desert too.
I wonder when my Fireworks CS4 beta will stop working, and if I can use my CS3 (free from Adobe from previous beta) to upgrade.
WTF mcdonalds soft serve is $1.39 in Canada.
It appears to be raining. Hrm.
Off to the movies at Metrotown, simply because the theatre at the end of my street is to convenient.
Rendering placed object. I’ll render you Photoshop *shakes fist*
Why is this tabloid sized illustrator file 148.4MB?! Sure it has 7 photos embedded, but none of them are that large.
Looking at 156 hours of flying this year. Feeling slightly guilty about this.
Watch out New Zealand, I’m coming home for December
Air New Zealnd’s e-tickets have changed. Much bigger print and easier to read, I think.
New MacBooks and Pros are awesomely awesome. Much better looking in person. I do not need one, but damn do I want one. Now.
I still have control of the office music, so today we’re enjoying some belle & sebastian
If there is a better Greek resteraunt in Vancouver than Stephos I’ve yet to find it. Not that I believe such a place exists.
Need more power. Or explosions. Perhaps both.
Workout done. Now to see a man about some keys.
App #2 now available on iTunes: http://tr.im/frr
Nothing beats a post workout shower. Except maybe a post workout pan au chocolat.
The problem with #nixos is that… well… debian just works for me.
When you search for something (e.g. nixos) and something else (e.g. vmware)), and the first result is your own tweet… not a good sign.
Australians make same damn funny tv. The Hollowmen - reminds me a lot of an NZ program about PR
100 connections in close_wait, all from one IP. Why that one IP? Why?!
Friday night in Vancouver, what to do, what to do.
I do love the sound of rain falling on a metal roof. Almost as much as standing under a large umbrella in heavy downpour.
Installing #nixos in VMWare. doing a nixos-checkout is being horribly slow, even on my 10mbps cable. Either that or crashed after twiki
Quite enjoying the most recent Antony & The Johnstons EP (Another World). If enjoying is the right word to describe the experience. Tis good
Dear BC Government: Thank you for the $100 cheque. Dear other governments: Please feel free to send me money also. Thanks, Me.
On the skytrain at 1am. Surprisingly safe feeling despite no visible staff.
The binary you uploaded was invalid. The signature was invalid, or it was not signed with an Apple submission certificate. YES IT IS. GRRRRR
