RubyCocoa - great for taking a ruby script I wrote and giving it a GUI.
Oh IKEA, how much I simultaneously love and want to kick you. (They need a computer that takes product names and tells you where things are)
Rather looking forward to moving in to my apartment next week. And being reunited with my speakers here (even if not as good as my NZ ones)
(Hoping) anywhere I can get Monteiths in Vancouver?
M DNS, now with 3 servers (west cost US, east coast US, UK). Next step ???, step four: world domination. or profit. whatever.
Transferring a .com domain to get them all in one place.
As much as I love Tim Hortons, the queue could put me off. But oh so tasty breakfast sandwhich.
The problem with Android is that I really don’t want to go near java.
Enjoying more of Greg Johnson’s latest album, though the last had a couple of particularly good tracks… (Vine Street Stories best CD tho’)
Main thing I use 3g on the iPhone for? Streaming music. (FlyCast and SimplifyMedia both rock)
I officially declare z-push (http://z-push.sourceforge.net/) awesome.
Vancouver →
As per the previous post I have returned to the crazy land of Vancouver. Where prices shown on labels bear little to no resemblance to the price you actually pay, where cars drive on the wrong side…
Someone has moved the wifi AP downstairs, and now my 2.5G iPhone is struggling to stay connected.
Oh, and yes @Shaun_R, that was simply to make you jealous. :)
Getting shaw turned out to be relatively easy. Except for the 20 minutes of hold time when I first called….
10Mbps, 100GB/month for $42? (Well, free for the first month, $29.95 for the next 6, and a free modem.)
UK VPS ordered, now MDNS will be really international. Yay?
Pondering a change of blogging software once more, but I might just be too lazy to bother. I know me too well.
Pondering various evil schemes involving Adobe, a paper clip and Albi the Racist Dragon.
Impressed by the way the iPhone does area code -> location stuff. Nifty.
Using Numbers because I can. Also because otherwise I’ll spend a million dollars at ikea.

Still working with my sysadmin hat on. Wondering if I’ll ever get back to development…
My apartment will have power! Looking forward to having my own space and to sitting down and trying to write another iPhone app to … ?
Today is a breakfast sandwich kind of day.
Fido fixed the “pdf bills won’t load unless you view source and find the url and then load it manually” bug. Now I know how much it’ll cost.
Waiting for a property manager. Oh joy. At least the weather is nice.
Old iPhone now on O2 pay & go, activated by iTunes and everything.
Ok Vancouverites: what’s the best internet option? Cable? DSL? Best DSL provider?
And just like that I have an apartment. Now to furnish it…
Apartment: Found. Now to claim it as mine. *evil laughter*
The hunt for accomodation continues. If only craigslist had a filter for location, and perhaps alerts.
Wish there was a rental site with a filter for “has 50Mbps+ internet available”.
Apartment hunting. By which I mean trawling craigslist and contemplating breakfast.
AirFoil on Air + AirFoil speakers on eeePC = audio happiness
Both iPhones now on 2.1, shame they’re different firmware files, 500MB on disk to keep them both around to restore…
iPhone 2.1 out, on the day when I don’t have time to download and install before heading to work? Of course.
It is totally a Richard Cheese afternoon.
shiny 23” cinema display has arrived on my desk. It’s shiny-erific.
Worked my Windows magic. That’s enough of that for this month.
Right, time to install 9[redacted] and QT7.5.5 and iTunes 8. Darn it, why didn’t I download that at work when I grabbed the other two?
Pondering where to live in Vancouver. So many areas, so little me… *cough*
Today is a quiznos day.
Random iTunes 8 new-thing: the iPhone 3G pic in devices now shows my white model with a white back.
The nanos continue the tradition of “wrap around colour”, “shiny back”, “wrap around colour” [and so on]. Wonder how intentional this is….
Interesting that the Touch v2.1 update is free for people who have v2.0
Not sure why the @ symbol in Twitter SMSs is showing up as ยก instead. How odd.
Feeling slightly disconnected from twitter due to lack of twitsms credits and lack of data (roaming fees are nuts) for justupdate
